New Delhi: The much awaited India Runway Week Winter/ Festive ’17 held at the DLF Place Saket Mall here today with an eye catching ramp walk by show stopper of the event and ‘Dance India Dance’ fame ace Bollywood Choreographer, Gita Kapoor. Popularly known as Gita Maa, she walked the ramp on a classical song by the legendary Kathak exponent Pt. Birju Maharaj. Thus she raised a voice against the growing incidents of violence in the country. The show titled as “Shubhashini Ornamentals RangYatra” - A million colour story was presented by renowned jewellery designer Akassh K Aggarwal.
Explaining about the collection, famous Jewellery Expert, Akassh Aggarwal said, “This season brings us to unfold a new vibrant set of hand-touched jewels that resonate with grandeur of India’s vivid art, culture, music, literature and even architecture. Our collection waves from an inspiration of the symbolic old tribal Indian touch from the heritage art of Dokra, Koftgari, Bidri, Meenakari, a slight vivaciousness of Peroi with fine Jadau techniques mixing in filgiri motives alongside a fire of stamped light-weight metal sheet work with the boldness of embossed 3D in metallic gold and silver to the stunning enchanting shine of Emeralds, Rubies, Sapphire and of course the delicate Pearls.”
“This and many more colors from the opulent palette of our Indian colors. Our Assortment of multiple accessories gives the edge to the collection versatility that can be adorned both traditionally and contemporary,” added Akassh.
The event was focused on glitter with a social message to end violence in the society. Renowned Bollywood Coreographer, Gita Kapoor said, “Beginning a vivid palette of jewels strung together nothing could have been better than making the effort to spread the roots of where the nation belongs and present truly that what makes us as the, “Bharat Gaṇarajya”. That fire spread across the veins only when you read those two words with the essence of our social message for unity and diversity and gender inclusion.”
